Guangming Science Park (North Wing).
Guangming District has welcomed a new addition to its leisure offerings with the opening of Guangming Science Park (North Wing), the Shenzhen Guangming WeChat account reported.
This park, spanning an impressive 2.082 million square meters of lush greenery, is set to be a hub of ecological, artistic, scientific, and recreational activities for residents and visitors alike.
The park's North Wing, covering approximately 980,000 square meters, has already been completed and is now open to the public. This section boasts a harmonious blend of ecological preservation and scientific exploration, featuring the Science Crown, a distinctive structure resembling a "cosmic flying saucer," perched atop Chai Hill's summit.
The design takes into account the overall environment of Chai Hill, creating a "delicate ring" embedded in the mountain. The Science Crown's ring corridor has a circumference of 156.1 meters. The interior of the building is transparent, without obstructions, using only glass walls to delineate spaces like the Science Reading Room and the Horizon Cafe. Outside, the Sky Boundary is an enclosed corridor viewing deck allowing visitors a 360-degree panorama of the urban scenery of Guangming CBD, offering an experience of the harmonious coexistence of city and nature.
Designed with a focus on sustainability and integration with the natural environment, the park offers three diverse paths for science enthusiasts: the Path of Science Education, the Path of Scientific History, and the Path of Scientific Interaction. These paths aim to educate and engage visitors on various scientific disciplines, highlighting the district's major scientific industries and historical achievements.
Moreover, the park showcases six natural theaters, each presenting unique elements of nature such as water, wood, mist, and sound. Visitors can immerse themselves in interactive experiences, like the Sound Wave Theater designed to visualize sound waves or the picturesque Mist Grove Theater featuring mist simulations and lush green spaces for relaxation and social gatherings.
As construction continues on areas like the Treetop Boardwalk and the Micro-Hill Theater & Log Theater, Guangming Science Park stands as not just a recreational spot but a vision of a vibrant, sustainable future. With its emphasis on blending ecology, art, and science, this park is poised to become a world-class destination offering a unique and enriching experience for visitors.
