Guangming District now boasts 185,844 business entities, accounting for 4.49% of the total number in Shenzhen, with an increase of 7.82% year on year, Bao'an Daily reported, citing the latest data from the Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision and Regulation Bureau.

Among them, 90,937 are enterprises, accounting for 3.58% of the city's total, up by 9.58% year on year; and 94,907 are self-employed households, accounting for 5.94% and up by 6.19% year on year. The district's ratio between enterprises and self-employed households stands at about 1:1.

In terms of economic industry distribution, newly registered enterprises are mainly distributed in the wholesale and retail industry (3,627), leasing and business services (1,057), manufacturing (903), accommodation and catering industry (416), and information transmission, software and information technology services (796).

Among them, the wholesale and retail industry accounts for the highest proportion at 40.33%; and the accommodation and catering industry accounts for the lowest proportion at 4.63%.

From January to September this year, Guangming District successfully upgraded 151 self-employed households to enterprises, accounting for 5.08% of the total number of transformations in the city.

By the end of this September, the first batch of "self-employed to enterprise" rewards in Guangming District had been distributed, with 24 enterprises receiving rewards for transformation and upgrading, with a total reward of 168,000 yuan (US$22,976).

The second batch of rewards included 21 enterprises receiving rewards for transformation and upgrading, with a total reward of 147,000 yuan.
